• Overview
The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2015 [JEE (Advanced) 2015] will be conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2015. Information brochure regarding the exam dates of JEE Advanced-2015 has been released by the IIT, Bombay. The performance of candidate in this examination will be the basis for admission to the various programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in the sixteen IITs and the Indian School of Mines (ISM).
From 2013 onward, the Indian Institutes of Technology - Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) has been replaced by the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) or JEE (Advanced) as the common entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes offered by all 16 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad.
• Eligibility
Criterion 1 – Performance in JEE (Main)-2015: The candidate should be among the top 1, 50,000 (all categories included) in JEE (Main)-2015. The percentages of the total number of candidates for various categories are: 50.5% for GEN (from the common merit list), 27% for OBC (NCL), 15% for SC and 7.5% for ST. Within each of these four categories, 3% horizontal reservation is available for PwD candidates. The category-wise distribution is shown in the following table:

Criterion 2 – Age limit: The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1990 if belonging to the GEN or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1985 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.
• Paper pattern
1. JEE Advanced 2015 Exam Pattern will cover two question papers that will feature in the examination
2. Each JEE Advanced 2015 Paper will be of three hours duration
3. JEE Advanced 2015 Question Papers will be available in two languages – English and Hindi
4. Each paper will comprise of three separate sections with Section I in Physics, Section II in Chemistry and Section III in Mathematics
5. The JEE Advanced 2015 Questions will be of multiple choice designed to primarily test the comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates
6. Some sections carry negative marking in the JEE Advanced 2015 Question Papers
7. The answers are to be marked on the first page of Optical Response Sheets (ORS). The two pages of ORS shall have the same layout.
8. The first page of ORS shall be machine readable and is designed to leave impressions in the second page.
9. The second page of ORS will be handed over to candidates at the end of examination, which shall have the impressions of the answers as marked by them in the first page of ORS.
• How to Apply?
1. Candidates have to register themselves for appearing in JEE Advanced-2015. Registration can be done through the online portal, "http://jeeadv.iitb.ac.in" only.
2. Candidates must read all the instructions before registering him/herself for the JEE Advanced-2015.
3. Candidates must satisfy each and every eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification of JEE Advanced-2015.
4. If any candidate found, not meeting any of the eligibility criteria mentioned in the notification of JEE Advanced-2015, then his/her registration will automatically get cancelled.
5. If a candidate did not opt for appearing in JEE Advanced-2015 while registering for JEE MAIN-2015, he/she can register for JEE Advanced 2015.
6. Application for JEE (Advanced) 2015 cannot be withdrawn in any condition after the registration is completed.
7. Registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable.
8. Detailed instructions for online registration will be provided on the registration portal.
