• OVERVIEW
The examination is held once a year by the different divisional offices of the Life Insurance Corporation for recruitment to the post of Clerical Assistants.
• ELIGIBILITY
Educational Qualifications:
(a) Assistants:
(i)Graduate of a recognized University; or
(ii)H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern) with at least 60% marks in aggregate or
(iii)A pass in L.I.C. Course of CBSE (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern).
(b) Typists:
(i)Graduate of a recognized University; or
(ii)H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) with at least 55% marks in the aggregate; or
(iii)A pass in L.I.C. Vocational Course CBSE (Standard XII of 10+2+3 pattern);
(iv)A speed of typing 40 words per minute in English or 25 words' per minute in Hindi.
(c) Stenographers:
(i)Graduate of a recognized University; or
(ii)H.S.C. (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) at least 55% marks in aggregate; or
(iii)A pass in LIC Vocational Course (Standard XII of 10 + 2 + 3 pattern);
(iv)A speed of at least 100 words per minute in English shorthand and a speed of 40 words per minute in English typing or a speed of 80 words per minute in Hindi shorthand and a speed of 25 words per minute in Hindi typing.
Age:
1. A candidate must have attained the age of 18 years and not attained the age of 28 years on the first day of the October of the year in which examination is held.
2. The upper age limit may be relaxed in respect of the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and such other categories of persons as may from time to time be notified in this behalf.
• PAPER PATTERN
Part - I
Reasoning ability
This section consists of reasoning ability questions like arithmetical reasoning, computation and other analytical functions, symbols and their relationships, decision making etc.
Numerical ability
This section consists of numerical ability questions like arithmetical computation of numbers,decimals, fractions and relationship between numbers etc.
General Knowledge
This section consists of general awareness questions.
English/Hindi
This section is used to test the grammar and vocabulary skills in English/Hindi
Part - II
Descriptive test
This section consists of essay and letter writing in English or Hindi or in official language of the state
Interview
Shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview in the order of their ranking as per the marks obtained by them in the objective test.
