National Eligibility Test (NET) is for post graduate candidates wishing to apply for Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship in Indian colleges and universities. This exam is conducted twice every year in the month of June and December respectively.NET is conducted in two disciplines of Arts and Humanities, Science and Engineering. There are 79 subjects listed under NET 2014. The Council for Scientific Research (CSIR) New Delhi jointly conducts and awards junior research fellowships in science disciplines (chemical science, mathematical science, physical science, ocean and planetary science and life science). 1. At very first candidates must be a citizen of India.
2. Aspirants who want to appear in UGC NET 2014 exam they must possess BE / B Tech / MBBS / Integrated BS-MS / MSC / PhD from any recognized university.
3. 28 years is maximum age limit for JRF post exam and no upper age limit for Lectureship post exam.
4. Relaxation in upper age will also be provided you as per norms of government of India.

The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions.
Paper - I
Marks - 100
Number of Question - 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted
Duration - 1Â¼ Hours (09.30 A.M. to 10.45 A.M.)
Paper - II
Marks - 100
Number of Question - 50 questions all are compulsory
Duration - 1Â¼ Hours (10.45 A.M. to 12.00 NOON)
Paper - III
Marks - 150
Number of Question - 75 questions all are compulsory
Duration - 2Â½ Hours (01.30 P.M. to 4.00 P.M.)
Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks. Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Through online process:
Applicants who are willing to apply they must fill the application form through the online process form the official website that is www.ugcnetonline.in
After that fill the form properly must upload the scanned passport size photograph and signature with the form and submit it online within the correct time period.
Through offline mode:
Applicants must take a print out of the filled form and send it along with the required Xerox copies of the particulars by enclosing in an envelope at the specified address.
