Job Description:
1) - Establish, develop, compile and monitor the laboratory quality assurance program and data
2) - Evaluates safety practices and procedures with respect to laboratory and field analytical work
3) - Prepares reports for management and agencies when required
4) - Maintains material safety data sheet records on chemicals and compounds used
Working Conditions:
1) - Compliance officers work with many different people and in a variety of environments
2) - Many Officers work long and often irregular hours
3) - Take an adversarial role when an organization or individual objects to inspections
Essential Skills:
1) - Read and understand work-related materials
2) - Skills such as problem solving, research, teamwork, presentation, training and communication
3) - Ability to maintain an overview of entire project while continuing to attend to details
4) - Understanding of the code, specifications and regulations related to the construction industry
Education:
Completion of high school
Some jobs require a Civil Engineering Diploma
Construction Quality Control courses offered in the industry
