A Brief Introduction
Established in 1931 known as the School of Agriculture, the Universiti Putra Malaysia is situated in Peninsular Malaysia and lies close to Kuala Kumpur and Putrajaya.
The University is a research university which offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses with a research focus on agricultural sciences and its related fields.
According to QS Rankings, it was ranked 376th university in the world overall and 45th best for Agricultural Sciences by the World Report College and University Ranking.
The University has two campuses, apart from the main campus at Serdang, Selangor.
The UPM branch campuses were located in Bintulu, Sarawak and Mengabang Telipot, Terengganu.
The campus in Terengganu has now been upgraded to the University College of Science and Technology Malaysia (KUSTEM), with its own management and administration. KUSTEM officially broke away from UPM on 1 July 2001. The Medicine and Health Sciences faculty maintains a campus complex adjacent to a local hospital in Serdang.
